Abstract Solar conversion of CO 2 into energy-rich products is one the sustainable solutions to lessen global energy shortage and environmental crisis. Pitifully, it still challenging attain reliable affordable conversion. Herein, we demonstrate a facile one-pot approach design core-triple shell Mn, C-codoped ZnO hollow spheres as efficient photocatalysts for reduction. The Mn ions, with switchable valence states, function “ionized cocatalyst” promote adsorption light harvesting system. Besides, they can capture photogenerated electrons from conduction band provide This process continuous due states ions. Benefiting such unique features, prepared demonstrated fairly good performance. work endeavoured shed on role ionized cocatalyst towards production.
